Val d’Isère : International ski resort since 1930
Val d’Isère has been a standout ski destination since the 1930s. It hosted several disciplines during the 1992 Albertville Olympic Games and the 2009 Alpine Ski World Championships.
Together, Val d’Isère and Tignes form what used to be known as the Espace Killy — one of the largest ski areas in the world. Located between the Grande-Motte glacier (3,650 m / 12,000 ft) and the Pissaillas glacier (3,400 m / 11,000 ft), the resort is open from November to May and offers countless slopes and off-piste trails, attracting snow sports enthusiasts from all over the world.
But Val d’Isère is more than just its slopes. It offers an entire lifestyle: snow sports, wellness, and entertainment all in one.
After a day on the slopes, experience the electric atmosphere of La Folie Douce, the resort’s iconic après-ski venue where gourmet dining, live DJs and open-air shows create a festive alpine mood.
Whether you’re looking for personalised ski lessons, fine dining, or a magical winter village, Val d’Isère promises an exceptional experience.
Did you know? The resort connects easily with the villages of La Daille, Le Fornet, and Le Laisinant, accessible year-round by free shuttle buses.
