The resorts of Tignes and Val d’Isère, collectively once known as Espace Killy, make up one of the largest ski areas in the world. Located between the Grande-Motte glacier at 3,650 m (about 12,000 ft above sea level) and the Pissaillas glacier at 3,400 m (about 11,000 ft), Tignes is famous for its exceptional quality of powder snow from November to May.

One-on-one lessons

Our one-on-one ski lessons in Tignes are the perfect way to build up your confidence on the slopes or make rapid progress.

How are our group lessons for children organised?

Groups of six by level ensure tailored lessons where kids can learn, progress and have fun. If needed, they can be moved to a different group to stay challenged.

Will my child receive a medal at the end of their course?

Absolutely! Every child receives a medal based on continuous assessment — no pressure, just progress and fun. Ski and snowboard ESi medals (Snowman, Crystal, Mini Board, etc.) are equivalent to ESF levels.

What certifications does our ski school have?

Our English ski school in Tignes (Le Lac, Val Claret, 1800) is ESi-certified (“École de Ski Internationale”). Our instructors are fully qualified under the French Ministry of Sport and hold national diplomas identical to ESF certifications.

How much does a ski or snowboard lesson cost?

What are the best beginner ski slopes in Tignes?

There are four free beginner areas in Tignes:

  • One in Val Claret
  • One in Tignes Le Lac (the largest beginner area with 4 free lifts)
  • A large covered magic carpet in Tignes 1800
  • A smaller beginner area in Tignes Les Brévières

Between Tignes 1800 and Les Brévières, the Edelweiss slope is a long and almost flat run, perfect for beginners wanting a real mountain adventure while practising their snowplough turns. Access is free for beginners taking lessons with a Snocool instructor.

Meeting points in Tignes

The most common meeting point in Tignes Le Lac is at the Snocool sign next to the Maison de Tignes, close to the ski pass office.

Other possible meeting points include:
