A hidden freeride gem in Val d’Isère
Among the most iconic descents in Val d’Isère, Le Cugnaï is a treasure for seasoned freeriders. Nestled between the Manchet area and the Vallon de la Sache, this wild, unmarked route requires strong fitness and technique—but rewards with fresh snow and alpine solitude.

What to expect on the route
You’ll start at the top of the Manchet Express chairlift. After a snow check and short traverse, the descent begins: roughly 1000 metres of vertical drop through powder fields, steep lines and forest trails. Expect a physical adventure that often ends with a short walk back to civilisation.
