SKI TOURING IN VAL D’ISERE

Ski touring is renowned for being reserved to an elite community. The recent evolution of ski equipment means that a far larger community can now discover the various aspects of this fascinating, energetic and satisfying sport.

Ski fitness: For fans of jogging and cardio whatever your level of skiing. This new activity takes place when everything is calm before val d’isere’s ski lifts opens. From 7:30 am a specialist instructor helps you prepare for your morning physical activity. Once you have your skis on, together with your instructor, head for the signposted ski touring trail in Val d’Isere to get fit while climbing to the summit of Solaise with seal skins stuck under your skis.  After a break at the top, you take the skins off and go back down on a ski lift or ski back to the resort, depending on your level of skiing …

First tracks: Early birds and first-tracks fans will be delighted by these unique moments that the mountain landscape offers at sunrise. Your guide will set a route based on group level and snow conditions. The goal is to walk up on a safe itinerary next to a groomed piste and ski down before the ski lifts are open to enjoy a unique moment alone in the mountains …

Backcountry: It’s a mixture of freeride and ski touring from the top of the lifts favoring the pleasure of long descents rather than the effort of the climb. The ski area of Val d’Isère and its many ski lifts is ideal for long descents in virgin snow after only a few minutes of effort to get off the beaten track.

Ski touring: A day of ski touring from the village of Val d’Isere allows you to walk freely in the Vanoise National Park or to climb several peaks like the famous Aiguille Rousse or Mean Martin to name only two.

Ski Raid: Around Val d’Isere, many huts like the Prariond or the Fond des Fours offer accommodation and are thus the starting points for many ski raids, for example between France and Italy . For more info contact us.
